Why It Matters

Electrical safety you can prove

An EICR is the only formal way to prove your property\'s electrical installation is safe. For landlords, it\'s a legal requirement — failure to hold a valid EICR can result in fines of up to £30,000. For homeowners, it\'s the single most important check when buying a property or every 10 years thereafter.

Our engineers test every circuit, socket and accessory using calibrated equipment, and produce a formal, digitally signed report the same day. If any defects are found, we explain them clearly in plain English and provide a fixed quote for remedial work — which we can often carry out on the same visit.

Understanding Your Report

EICR Classification Codes

Your EICR will classify every circuit using these codes. We explain what each one means in plain English.

C1

Danger Present

Immediate risk of injury. Remedial work required urgently — circuit may be isolated on the spot.

C2

Potentially Dangerous

Fault that could become dangerous. Remedial work required within 28 days for landlords.

C3

Improvement Recommended

Not dangerous, but upgrading would improve safety. No legal deadline, but advisable.

FI

Further Investigation

Cannot fully assess without additional inspection. Requires follow-up before a final verdict.

How It Works

Our EICR Process

01

Book Inspection

Schedule a convenient time — we work evenings and weekends for tenanted properties.

02

Visual Inspection

We assess the consumer unit, wiring, bonding and all accessible accessories for visible defects.

03

Dead Testing

Continuity, insulation resistance and polarity tests on every circuit with the power safely isolated.

04

Live Testing

RCD trip times, earth fault loop impedance and prospective fault current measured on each circuit.

05

Report Issued

You receive a formal EICR with classification codes for every circuit — same day, digitally.

06

Remedial Work

If any C1, C2 or FI codes are found, we provide a fixed quote and can often repair on the same visit.
